    An Australian Christmas

Australians have a special way of spreading Christmas cheer Ploughing snow is a big no-no, we have sun over here Christmas pud is a pav instead, while lunch is on the beach Cold ham replaces turkey, And we have three servings each Kangaroos help Santa out, ‘Cause reindeer just won’t do For they don’t know the bush so well, roos just bound on through Forget the fur lined boots this year, thongs are what we need Rudolf will have to sit it out, while Skippy takes the lead But don’t you worry, have no fear, Santa’s used to us down…

Aussie Jingle Bells

AUSTRALIAN JINGLE BELLS Dashing through the bush, in a rusty Holden Ute, Kicking up the dust, esky in the boot, Kelpie by my side, singing Christmas songs, It’s Summer time and I am in my singlet, shorts and thongs Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way, Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey! Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut! Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute. Engine’s getting hot; we dodge the kangaroos, The swaggie climbs aboard, he is welcome too. All the…

Six White Boomers

SIX WHITE BOOMERS Early on one Christmas Day, a Joey Kanga-roo, Was far from home and lost in a great big zoo. Mummy, where’s my mummy? They’ve taken her a-way. We’ll help you find your mummy, son. Hop up on the sleigh. Up beside the bag of toys little Joey hopped, But they hadn’t gone far when Santa stopped. Unharnessed all the reindeer and Joey wondered why, Then he heard a far off booming in the sky. Six white boomers, snow white boomers, Racing Santa Claus through the blazing sun. Six…

Deck the Shed

DECK THE SHED Deck the sheds with bits of wattle fa la la la la la la la la Whack some gum leaves in a bottle fa la la la la la la la la All the shops are open sundies fa la la la la la la la la Buy your Dad some socks and undies fa la la la la la la la la Deck the sheds with bits of gumtree fa la la la la la la la la Hang some deco’s off the plum tree fa la la la la la…

Christmas on the Station

CHRISTMAS ON THE STATION Oh there’s going to be dancing and singing, At the old homestead tonight, Going to be carols ringing, Through the warm Australian night, Dance on the homestead verandah To an old time fiddle tune, There’s going to be an old time party With Christmas coming soon. Oh we wont have no sleigh ride We’ll go swimming in the creek But all the kids and relations Who are staying for a week.
