この頃オーストラリアのパスポートには「バツイチ」の掲載が許可されたが、離婚と無縁だ。実は、性別の所がだ男女という二つの項目から三つの項目に。その三つ目の項目は性同一障害者など向けであり、「X」という形でします。

    　オーストラリアで旅行する日本人の数がこれからも激減するだろう、とカンタス航空が予想していることはニューキャスル・ヘラルド紙が27日報道した。 　国立観光予想委員会によるとこの10年間オーストラリアへ旅行する日本人の人数が毎年６％ペースで減少し、これから増加してもほんの少し程度だという。 　同委員会が観光客激減の理由は、オーストラリアが観光インフラに投資していないことと日本人の価値変化が背景にあるだという。 Qantas sees little growth in Japanese tourists

    Sandii, responsible for one of Japan’s first (and extremely rare) marks on Australian popular music charts back in the early 1980s, remains active in the Japanese entertainment world, performing live in Tokyo on Aug. 5 during the Ocean Peoples event at Yoyogi Park1980年代前半にオーストラリアでヒットした非常に稀な日本人パフォーマーとしてサンディーは、今でも活躍中であり、8月5日東京代々木公園にて「Ocean Peoples」に関連したライブを行なった。While fronting Sandii and the Sunsetz back in the 1980s, Sandii scored a #11 hit on the Australian pop music charts in 1984 with Sticky Music.     English is now Australia’s most commonly used language, but there are also still dozens of indigenous Australian languages that are native tongues for many people living Down Under. 　今では英語がオーストラリアで最も使われている言語であるが、同国では数十ある先住民言語の一つが母国語である人が多数いる。 And many indigenous Australian languages have for tens of thousands of years used sign language as well, the most famous example being that used in the Warlpiri language used in the remote central Australian desert, centering on the community of Yuendumu. 　面白いことに、この先住民言語の中、多くが何万年前から「手話」が使われている言語が多い。恐らくその最も有名な例がオーストラリア中央部砂漠地帯内イウエンドゥムで使われているワールピリ語だ。 Including the Warlpiri, these sign languages are often the result of taboo practices, where custom forbids certain members of tribes speaking to other members.
