    Japanese have been legally eating kangaroo for longer than most Australians. Kangaroo meat was imported to Japan and being served in Tokyo restaurants from 1988, five years before meat from the national symbol was legalized for consumption by Australians in all states other than South Australia, where kangaroo could be eaten legally from 1980. (Indigenous Australians had continued eating kangaroo, a traditional food, regardless of the ban.)     豪大手スーパー関係企業がタスマニアで「No Asians」の求人広告を

    　タスマニア島最大ショッピング・モールであるイーストランズ・ショッピング・センター内の豪大手スーパーであるコールズで働くため関連会社が求人広告をガムトリーというネット上の三行広告サイトに掲載したが「インド系・アジア系の応募お断り」となっていたことをホバートマーキュリー紙が28日付報道した。 　コールズ広報担当は、同社が広告内容を知らなくて、絶対に容認し得ないだ、というが、応募した人が同スーパーイーストランズ店で掃除をすることになっていた。同社が委託する関連会社が求人広告を出したことを認めているが、事前に内容などを許可得ることはなかった。委託する会社はコールズもマーキュリー紙も公表していない。 　一方、フェースブックなどSNSでは広告を批判する声が多かった。それに対して広告が26日に掲載されたが数時間内で削除されたという。 　今後、タスマニア州立差別排除委員会委員長ロビン・バンクス氏が違法性を指摘、同委員会が調査を乗り出す方針だと示した。 　日本と違って憲法上では完全に表現お自由が守られていない。（オーストラリアの場合、守られているのは「政治関係表現」のみだ」。なので、人種・性・年齢・身体などの差別が違法であり、このような広告の違法性が高く犯罪に当たる可能性が高い。 　オーストラリア人として考えRooがお詫びします。まさかこのようなことを今でもやっていると想像もしなかった。情けない。 Racist job ad sparks anger Eastlands Shopping Center Coles Supermarkets
