Alky is the Strine term used to describe an alcoholic. Back in the olden days, this would have been quite an acceptable term, but nowadays, someone with an alcohol dependence would probably be described as having substance abuse disorder. g’day Australian English G’day is the typical Australian greeting, used at any time of the day or night upon meeting another person. It is arguably the most famous example of Australian English.
