豪キャブラリー： Rip-snorter
Rip-snorterほど最高なことがない。Rip-snorterは直訳すると「破いて鼻を鳴らす」という意味だが、どうしてオージー英語では「最高」という使い方になったのか分かりません。今では、もう死語になりつつあるが、オージー英語の黄金時代の1950・1960年代頃では象徴的な言葉の一つだろう。
