  • Event Approvals, Grants On Offer For 50th Anniversary Of Japan-Australia Friendship Treaty

    Japan and Australia are offering grants and approval for certain events to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Signing of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Co-operation between Japan and Australia in 2026. The governments of both countries and the Australia-Japan Foundation are taking all sorts of steps for broad exchange between Japan and Australia, with the active participation of local governments, businesses, private organizations, and others.     「果実の都」の象徴となるBig Fruit Bowl

    Kalamundasaurus: ごく普通な家の前にある偉大なアオジタトカゲ

    西オーストラリア州州都パース郊外ひとつであるカラマンダでは、他の豪州「Big Things」と違う巨大キッチュ彫刻がある。 　これは、Big Bobtailと呼ばれ、長さ約９メートルのアオウジタトカゲである。観光地でもなくごく普通な住宅街に位置しているので町おこしなどその他の「Big Things」と違ってただあるだけ。作られた理由が特になかったようだったが、その近くにウロウロする本物のアオジタトカゲがモデルとなったらしい。 　恐竜に似ていると言われているので別名はカラマンダザウルスだ。 　ちなみに、カラマンダザウルスが「パースの最も最悪な物」のひとつとして選ばれた。 大きな地図で見る
