NAIDOC Week, which celebrates the contribution of indigenous Australians, is celebrated in the first week of July every year. This year, the theme if “50 Years of Deadly,” marking the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week (Just as Japan and Australia celebrate their treaty formalizing 50 years of friendship!) See those with a Japan-Australia bond engaging in the yartz in plenty of places from July 10, and over the coming weeks.

Ron Mueck at the Mori Art Museum
One of Australia’s most celebrated contemporary artists is currently the subject of a major exhibition at the Mori Art Museum.
Ron Mueck’s hyperrealistic sculptures explore the human condition through astonishing craftsmanship and dramatic changes in scale. If you haven’t visited yet, this remains one of the year’s biggest Australian cultural events in Japan.
