A Pleasant Dalliance With Death

After a couple of months with wet weekends and pretty much a week of incessant rain, the brightcomp sunshine and lack of wind was too great to resist, so I got out on the Death Machine while I could this morning.

I was rewarded with a delightfully smooth ride that was free of any major strife.

And even more so by the views of cherry blossoms in full bloom, turning the neighborhood a resplendent pink that complemented the blue sky spectactularly.

Replacing the bearings in the recumbent’s handlebars have made maneuvering much easier, and I now feel at ease riding the bike.

I finsihed with just enough time to have a shower ahead of a day full of meetings related to serving on the body corporate of the retirement home where I live.

    豪キャブラリー:Nick out

  • Back Again!

Well, it’s been quite a while since we posted, but we’re back. It’s unlikely Kangaeroo.com will return to daily updates as had been the case for most of 2010 through 2014, but we will endeavor to be more active than in the past few years. Another significant change will be eliminating the emphasis on Japan and Australia. From now on, the site will just be about the day-to-day bullshit undertaken by the site owner. Cheers!

  • Icky

    オージー英語であるストラインでは「Icky」は難しい場面や状態という意味だ。居心地の悪い場所や環境の意味もある。

  • Doggone

After a blissful stay with us of two weeks or so, Uyu the border collie is gone, having returned home to her mum and dad. It was sad to see her go as she had been our little angel and being with her was blissful. She brought enormous joy and we had great fun. But, as I had noted the last time she stayed her, the biggest lesson Uyu provided was to convey how clearly impossible it would be for us to own a dog, much as I would love to have one. I simply can’t care well enough for a dog. A pooch needs daily walks, feeds, care of…

  • Full Seed Ahead!

Buoyed by the emergence of buds from everlasting daisies on Saturday and given the gift of desperation on late Sunday afternoon following a weekend of sloth, I planted the last of my seeds from Australia. With “budding” success from the humidity pods I have been using, I got enough confidence to try some different things with the seeds that I had left. Most of the seeds I brought back from Australia from my visit last year went into humidity pods last week, and the remainder went in by today: kangaroo paw, desert pea, golden everlastings, native wisteria and heath banksia. As this was the second lot of kangaroo paw seeds…
