Back Again!

Well, it’s been quite a while since we posted, but we’re back.
It’s unlikely Kangaeroo.com will return to daily updates as had been the case for most of 2010 through 2014, but we will endeavor to be more active than in the past few years.
Another significant change will be eliminating the emphasis on Japan and Australia. From now on, the site will just be about the day-to-day bullshit undertaken by the site owner.
Cheers!

Cop A Gander At These Rippers Too...

  • Forget Tiptoeing thru Tulips and Plod thru Paddies

Normally, we’d be smack-bang in the middle of the rainy season by now (and we are, officially), but the skies have held off for the past few days, providing great cycling weather which has made for some wonderful rides, including this morning’s through the rice paddies of outer suburban Tokyo. May seemed a little cooler and damper than usual this year, and all sorts of appointments meant I wasn’t able to ride as much as I would have liked. June is a hard month for cycling as there is so much rain. I have pretty much given up on riding in the rain if possible, now, due to the rapid…

  • Crust

In Strine, your crust is your livelihood, or what you do for a living. For example, “Davo works hard to earn his crust.”

  • Reflective

More and more is going on to inspire reflection on life. It’s a constructive development. Life is good when life exists. Realizing it’s good is another matter. Fortunately, for various reasons, it’s becoming easier to find elements of all things to contain the pleasant. It’s not my nature to do this, yet I am finding myself doing it more often. What luck!

  • Just Flowers

It’s a sodden day with rain punctuated by drizzle, but the flowers in Kangaeroo Corner are brightening an otherwise bleak day. The grevillea are simply gorgeous and our star tree is filling with flowers that I have to learn to deadhead so that we get even more. Snow in the summer made its first appearance for the year. More white came from the willow bottlebrush. And the linear-leaf grevillea, which has now been blooming for months. Perhaps an unsung star of Kangaeroo Corner is the coastal rosemary, which has also been consistently in bloom since pretty much the start of the spring. Although the flowers are a delight, not all…

    Big Things
