Ron Mueck at the Mori Art Museum

One of Australia’s most celebrated contemporary artists is currently the subject of a major exhibition at the Mori Art Museum.

Ron Mueck’s hyperrealistic sculptures explore the human condition through astonishing craftsmanship and dramatic changes in scale. If you haven’t visited yet, this remains one of the year’s biggest Australian cultural events in Japan.

    Kaura no Hancho Kaigi (Honchos’ Meeting in Cowra) superbly dramatizes events surrounding a definitive incident in Australia-Japan relations.     Worst Aussie Songs Ever! 豪史上最低曲ワースト10！

    豪名作が記録的な額で買収され

    　オーストラリアの最も有名なアーティスト一人の最も有名な作品シリーズの１作品が豪州芸術作品として記録的な値段と買収されたことがメルボルンのシドニー・モーニング・ヘラルド紙28日付報道によって分かった。 　売られたのは『ケリー追跡大作戦』シリーズの１作品First Class Marksman（１等射撃者）であり、約540万豪ドル（約4億6千円）で買収された。 　恐らく故シドニー・ノーラン氏がオーストラリア最大20世紀の画家だった。 　長いキャリアに渡って数多く作品を制作したが、その中で最も有名な作品が間違いなくこの『ケリー追跡大作戦』シリーズ。 　このシリーズは、1800年代オーストラリアで山賊・盗賊だったブッシュレンジャーの伝説的な一人だったネッド・ケリーの一連の事件を描いたものだ。小学校低学年の子供を含めてほとんどどんなオーストラリア人でもノーラン氏のネッド・ケリー作品を知り、オーストラリア名作を称える記念切手にもなったことがある。 　ノーラン氏の『ケリー追跡大作戦』シリーズが1946年に描かれたと言われているが、同紙の報道によると実際にノーラン氏が二つのケリー関係シリーズを制作した。最も有名な1946年の作品の上にあまり知られていない1955年制作のものもあるという。シリーズのほとんどが主にキャンベラにあるオーストラリア国立美術館（ＮＧＡ）に収納されている。 　記録的な値段で買収されたFirst Class Marksmanが1946年シリーズのものだったが、この一連の作品ほとんど公のギャラリーなどで買い取られたりしていいるのでオークションなどに出回ることが極めて稀なことだ。買収されたのは2010年であって、その実態がようやく今となって公表された。 　しかし、1955年シリーズの物が数年おきにオークションなどに現れえるという。 『ケリー追跡大作戦』シリーズ　 ＮＧＡノーラン・コレクションについて Record $5.4m for Nolan 「強盗殺人」なのにBig Thingsを含めて豪がNed Kellyを称える理由は何だ？
