    How A Kangaroo Helped Japanese Game Shows Get Charitable

    Tokyo Broadcasting System ran the very successful TBS Kangaroo Fund from 1976 to 2010, first to help children orphaned by traffic accidents, people with disabilities and the elderly before moving to help other social causes. TBS never publicly explained its choice of a kangaroo to symbolize the fund, but the marsupial infers a friendly, protective image with its pouch equating to encompassing care, which signalled that donations would carry and protect vulnerable children The TBS Kangaroo Fund collected viewer donations and corporate gifts and channelled grants to vetted charities and disaster relief.     ビール・グラス名称だけで嫌になちゃうオージー英語

    オーストラリアではビールがよく飲まれているし、ある人にとって「ビール飲みオーストラリア人」が国民的な象徴まで言っても過言ではない。 　なので、ビールを頼むのは簡単だと思うだろう？A glass of beer, pleaseやTwo glasses of beerなどのように言えば良いと思っても当然だと思う。しかし、ちょっと甘い。（頼むときに、オージー英語ではpleaseとthanksがほぼ自由に入れ替わりが出来ることを別において置いて、、、）そのように頼めば確かにビールは出るが場所によってそのビールのサイズが大きく異なる可能性が高い。 　なぜかというと、オーストラリアの州によってビールを入れるグラスの名称が違う。時には、その違いが大きい場合もある。「Glass」という名称も使わないところもある。 「熱くなって一杯飲みたいな」と思ったら、ビール・グラス名称を覚えるのは面倒だろうので、下記のテーブルが各州のビール・グラスの大きさと名称を示している。参考になればripper, mate!
