Big Tennis Racquet

The Big Tennis Racquet, Barallen, NSW

Kangaroo Cooking…Roo Meat: It’s Tasty if Ya Cook It!

Japanese have been legally eating kangaroo for longer than most Australians. Kangaroo meat was imported to Japan and being served in Tokyo restaurants from 1988, five years before meat from the national symbol was legalized for consumption by Australians in all states other than South Australia, where kangaroo could be eaten legally from 1980. (Indigenous Australians had continued eating kangaroo, a traditional food, regardless of the ban.) Despite the head start, kangaroo meat never really kicked on in Japan, despite its reputation for being a healthy, high-protein, low-fat alternative to beef or pork. RooMeat was promoted in Japan as being a preferred choice of athletes and models, but the “stars”…

Budgie smugglers

Kangaroo House Aims To Make Everyone A Hero

Kangaroo House is a group home facility in Kaizuka, Osaka Prefecture, that aims to make everyone a hero. Kangaroo House is operated by Cangaroo K.K. It is registered as a residential support service for people with intellectual, mental, or physical disabilities. It’s hard to track down information on this Kangaroo House, a name given to many organizations in Japan, and I don’t know why it chose a kangaroo as the symbol of its group home services, caring for residents with various disabilities and providing daily life support. As noted in many posts, Japanese companies often use a kangaroo to symbolize their operations because the marsupial’s pouch commonly symbolizes protection and…
