「果実の都」の象徴となるBig Fruit Bowl

　ニューサウスウェールズ州州都シドニーから車でおよそ１時間にあるビルピンは果物農家などが多く「果実の都」と呼ばれてもおかしくない。
　それらしく「Big Things」がビルピンのBig Fruit Bowlだ。ちなみに、このフルーツ・バウルが世界最大だそう。
　果物を中心にビルピンがちょっとしたＢ級観光地となっている。世界遺産であるグレーター・ブルー・マウンテンズ地域の中にあり、シドニー中心部からそれほど遠くない。
　Big Fruit Bowlは農家前にあり、御土産屋やその他の観光施設もある。ビルピンの多くの農家が「You Pick」制度であり、りんごを中心に様々なフルーツを訪問者が自分たちで狩って買うというしくみとなっている。

  • コアラが「飲み屋」に侵入し、寝入る

    豪キャブラリー：Mollycoddle

    厳密に言えば、mollycoddleはオージー英語独特な言葉ではないが、オージー英語ではよく使われているので、ここに豪キャブラリーのひとつとして入れさせていただいた。 　Mollycoddleは「人を甘える」という意味である、あまり良い感じを与える言葉ではない。受動態で甘えん坊に対して批判的な使い方が最も多いだろう。例えば、Hughesy’s bloody useless ‘coz he’s been mollycoddled from birth（ヒュージー＜人＞は、生まれてからmollycoddleされたため、つかいものにならんだ」。

    Aussie Anime hits Tokyo with a Blast….of Flatulence!
