ゴミ捨て置き場前の観光スポットであるBig Bicycle

　名目上ではオーストラリアの「Big Things」は観光名所として作られているが、ニューサウウェールズ州シドニーの郊外にあるチュロラのBig Bicycleどう見ても違うような気がせざるを得ない。
　チュロラは工業地域であり、近くに南半球最大級の墓場であるルックウォッド・セメテリーがある。おまけ、高さ９メートル長さ６メートルBig Bicycleが工業団地内のゴミ処理場前に置かれている。失礼でありながら、ここが観光するところじゃないとしか思えない。
　だが、「Big Things」の魅力の一つが存在意味不明であるという観点から見れば、いいじゃないかなと思う。不思議な巨大物の中でこの1997年に作られた異様なオブジェでも居場所があるかも。

    This year marks the 20th anniversary of Australia’s disastrous foray into exporting cars to Japan. For a brief period from 1989 to 1992, fully imported Bluebird Aussie cars made in Australia went on sale in Japan.
