It’s hard not to wax lyrical when greeted by a spectuclar morning where the moon is waning lyrically and the sun about to wax.
The waning moon, Venus and, I think, Mars, really stood out in the pre-dawn skies as I set off on my ride this morning. I’ve long given up trying to take a decent photo of the moon because I don’t have the technical prowess to do so, but the sight was so delightul I tried anyway. (And failed!)
Yet again, the late summer sunrise did not fail to, well, shine! It really is a wonderful start to a day to be greeted by such a glorious view. There were many superb things to see this morning.

It’s also nice to enjoy the day before the heat becomes oppressive. We’re expecting a third straight day where the top temperature will go beyond the mid-30s. I’m enjoying it, but the heat can be sapping.
I was fortunate enough to be able to turn on a fan last night and be cool enough to get a sound night’s sleep.

Mind you, having spent the late afternoon on a 60 km ride in the heat and traffic probably went some way to helping that, too.

I’d cycled along the Tsurumi River to the Yokohama Bird Clinic to catch up on Dino.

Our rosy faced lovebird was energetic and cheerful. It gave me hope. Too much? Who knows. I had spent most of the day thinking about euthenizing at best, or spending a few days at home together again before the inevitable.
