「モートンベイ・バグ」は、オーストラリア沿岸、特にクイーンズランド州周辺に生息するウチワエビの一種。

名前こそちょっと変わっているが、虫ではなく、甘くて繊細な身が人気の甲殻類だ。

オーストラリアのシーフードレストランでは定番で、グリルやバーベキュー、バターとレモンを添えて出されることが多い。

    オーストラリア人の多くがぐずることが大好きで、よく文句をいう。こういう方々は「sooky」と呼ばれる。 　厳密に言えばsookyは「よく泣く」という意味であり、sook「泣く」（動詞）の副詞であるが、別に泣かなくても文句や愚痴をたくさん言えばsookyと言われる可能性が高い。子どもに対してよく使う言葉なので大人に対して言われるとちょっと見下している感じもある。 　ちなみに、sookを名詞として使う場合は実際にsookをする人を示せるというとても便利な役割を果たせる言葉でもある。

    Coathangerは、オージー英語の中では驚くほど多くの使い方がある。当然、英・米語と同じように「ハンガー」という意味に加えて「腕を伸ばして逆方向から来ている人を意図的にぶつける」という使い方も（主にスポーツ）ある。 　おまけ、オーストラリアのシンボルのひとつであるシドニー・ハーバー・ブリッジのニックネームがcoathangerである。その由来は、同橋がハンガーに似ているから来たのだ。
