ちょっとだけ出かける場合は、オージー英語ではnick outという表現が使える。こっそりと動く感じもある。 由来は小さく刻むのnickから来て「小さく出かける」という感覚で思ったら分かりやすいかもしれない。（しかし、刻むのが物ではなく言葉だ。）ちなみに、このnickもnicknameのnickでもある（小さい名前という意味）。
