　豪州外では、rottenは腐っているという意味だけど、オージー英語ではその腐り方がかなり違う。さて、どのようにだろう？

    豪で発売するラム肉バーガーこそがオージー味であり、日本マクドナルドが日本消費者に不誠実

    日本マクドナルドのAussie Deliバーガーが豪Maccasらしくない！ McDonald’s Australia has decided to get Serious! Literally, with the Serious Lamb Burger.     “Turn it up” in Strine means to be quiet, or be reasonable, or can also be a request to cease conversation. ストラインには、「Turn it up」が静かにしなさいか、融通を利くや会話を止める合図だ。

    豪キャブラリー：Dead Horse

    え～？Dead horseは、国民的な言葉と言えるほどオージー英語でよく使う表現だけど「死んだ馬」と言う意味なので決していい感じではないよね。おまけ、醤油が日本料理に欠かせない存在と同じように多くの伝統的な豪料理にはdead horseが絶対だ。でも、ゴッドファーザーのベッド・シーンなどを思い浮かばさせるためイメージが悪いかもしれないが、実際にdead horseはたんなるsauce （厳密に言えばtomato sauce)の音韻俗語だけなのだ。

    豪キャブラリー：Mollycoddle

    厳密に言えば、mollycoddleはオージー英語独特な言葉ではないが、オージー英語ではよく使われているので、ここに豪キャブラリーのひとつとして入れさせていただいた。 　Mollycoddleは「人を甘える」という意味である、あまり良い感じを与える言葉ではない。受動態で甘えん坊に対して批判的な使い方が最も多いだろう。例えば、Hughesy’s bloody useless ‘coz he’s been mollycoddled from birth（ヒュージー＜人＞は、生まれてからmollycoddleされたため、つかいものにならんだ」。
