豪キャブラリー：Ear bashing

オージー英語では、激しく粘り強くしつこく叱られた時はear bashingされたという。直訳すると「耳がボコボコにする」という意味であり、そのように考えれば感覚がなんとな分かるでしょう。
　他の英語圏では、叱れることをtongue lashing（ベロで鞭打ちする）をいうと考えれば英語圏全体では叱ることは変わっている表現を使い怒られることに対しての嫌悪感を伺える。
