Gangnam Bogan Style! K-Pop大ヒットの豪ダサイ風パロディ版が注目を浴びている
今、韓国K-PopアーティストＰＳＹの「江南スタイル」が世界中に大ヒットが、数多くのパロディ版も発表され、その中オージーのダサイ文化を称える「ボーガン」風のMelbourne Styleが注目を浴びている。 K-Pop artist PSY may have scored a massive global hit with his catchy Gangnam Style, but he’s also inspired plenty of parodies, including Gangnam – Melbourne Style!, a version that celebrates Australia’s bogan culture of the unfashionable. ちなみに、元の「江南スタイル」がこうだ。 Incidentally, the original Gangnam Style is here. ビデオの独特なダンスがヒットの原因一つとしているが、日本のネット社会では日本のカー用品販売「イエローハットＣＭのパックリだ」という声も上がっている。そのビデオがここにある。どう思う？ The dance mimicking a lasso-wielding horse-rider in Gangnam Style is often cited as a source of the hit’s success, but some among Japan’s Net community say PSY has ripped off moves from an ad produced here years ago by Yellow Cab, a car accessories seller. Banana bender/クイーンズランド人。
Banana bender Australian English A Queenslander, a resident or native of the state of Queensland. The name derives from the large amount of tropic fruit production in the state, as well as being a gentle jibe at Queenslanders for the perception that they are “slow” because of the regional accent and the state’s traditional conservativeness. Rightoは、は気軽く相手に対して同意を示している言葉であり、おそらくall rightの省略でありながらもうひとつのオージー英語の特徴である言葉の最後に「o」という母音を付け加えた形になっている。二つのオージー英語特徴を示しているという意味は、ちょっと特別な言葉かもしれないね。 Rightoも、何らかの行動を起こす前に自分自身にいう言葉として使う場合もあり、沿いう時は日本語の「よっしゅ」と同じような感覚で使う。 Righto, then, let’s check out the table to see how “righto” comes up in other forms of English and in Japanese.
豪キャブラリー：Coathanger
Coathangerは、オージー英語の中では驚くほど多くの使い方がある。当然、英・米語と同じように「ハンガー」という意味に加えて「腕を伸ばして逆方向から来ている人を意図的にぶつける」という使い方も（主にスポーツ）ある。 おまけ、オーストラリアのシンボルのひとつであるシドニー・ハーバー・ブリッジのニックネームがcoathangerである。その由来は、同橋がハンガーに似ているから来たのだ。
「やばいリンガル」 Flick （人と縁を切る）
オージー英語はユニークな使い方がある場合が多い。たとえ他の国の英語では同じ言葉でもオージー英語の場合の意味が完全に違うこともある。Flickは、本来の英語ではflick（軽くたたくこと）という意味だが、オージー英語ではどうだろう？
