A didgeridoo is musical instrument created and used by indigenous Australians. Didgeridoos are shaped from hollow tree branches and can be up to 3 metres long. They’re called by many names depending on the tribes that used them. Perhaps the best-known indigenous Australian term for the instrument is the yidaki. Japanese musicians are among the world’s best players of the didgeridoo.
ディジュリドゥは、オーストラリア先住民が作り、演奏してきた楽器。中が空洞になった木の枝を使い、長さは3メートルにもなることがある。部族ごとに呼び名はいろいろあるが、先住民の言葉で最もよく知られている名称のひとつが『イダキ』だ。ちなみに、ディジュリドゥの演奏技術は日本人ミュージシャンが世界でもトップクラスと言われている。
