The Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums (JAZA) coordinates breeding programmes for many animal species, including kangaroos and other marsupials. By carefully managing animal populations between member zoos, JAZA helps maintain healthy genetic diversity and reduces the need to import animals from overseas.
