Hello Cocky!

Spring is drawing closer by the day, if not actually here already in Tokyo, but that doesn’t mean the warmth has arrived yet, though the cockatoo in Kangaeroo Corner couldn’t care less.

Every morning is getting lighter and the flowers are blooming.

Kangaeroo Corner’s wattle is resplendent!

We were originally going to have a wattle-viewing party in the early spring, but it looks like reality has intervened.

Speaking of reality, it’s bloody chilly again today.

Apparently, this is only a one-off.

It’s a little apt, as the icy relationship with my boss is becoming positively chilling after we were dumped with yet more work following the departure of yet another member of staff.

Big Fruit Bowl

  • There’s Something Coincidental About Serendipity

Serendipity has shaped my life much more than I would ever have expected. Two of the most fateful moments of my existence arose by coincidence, both of which involved bumping into someone I’d never expected to see again. These accidents led to me spending most of my life in Japan, and for now doing so clean and sober. Anyway, I’m digressing from what I really want to talk about, which is coincidence. Over the weekend, I was at a meeting when a neighbor walked in with his wife trailing behind him. The wife looked familiar as it turned out she should….More than three decades ago, she had kindly been one…

  • Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2020, the Year of the Rat, according to the Chinese zodiac. A rat is as close as you’ll get to a kangaroo in the Far East, so Kangaeroo is looking forward to this year. And if that’s not good enough, Kangaeroo’s track record suggests a rat is not too far away. Either way, we hope that all and sundry have a wonderful year, whatever happens.

Big Galah

Panorama of The Big Galah supplied by Panoramic Earth View Larger Map An Aussie Chrissie The Strine Why Atorkin: Natchrule Strine Galah/アホ 豪キャブラリー:Galah Strine Dictionary

Carn
