Sometimes A Whisper Isn’t Loud Enough

Having been presented with a couple of opportunities last year to look after the delightful border collie Uyu I had begun to fancy myself as a bit of a dog whisperer because of the devotion she was showing me, so I was delighted at the prospects of renewing acquaintances.

That opportunity would come from a family cherry blossom viewing at Inokashira Park, which is adjacent to Uyu’s home.

Well, so much for being a dog whisperer….Uyu showed she remembered me by immediately dropping to the ground and demanding a belly rub. Then, she didn’t come near me for the rest of the day as she stuck close to mum and dad’s side. Even when I tried to give her a while, she only pined to be with her parents.

Fortunately, Mrs. Kangaeroo had really laid on the dog with a huge feed that included scrumptious lamb chops (whose bones Uyu ravenously devoured), meat pies and choccies, all of which helped rid the taste of humble pie.

It was a wonderful day spent with a lovely and warm group of people and a dog with ice running through her veins, but is too gorgeously beautiful to not adore.
