Bit of a Wasted Weekend
Didn’t do a lot today.
Except eat.
And play with the bird.
Turned out to be something of a wasted weekend.
It wasn’t a total failure.
Cleaned the house.
And got the garden looking good.
Including some shopping for new lights.

Uneventful
Today’s ride was bland and mundane, which made it pretty much ideal, but the sunrise did throw some color and spectacular skies in there to make for some amazing scenes. The mornings are already darker and I need to wait until about 4:30 a.m. to be assured of a ride in complete light where it had been light at 4 a.m. less than a month ago. Having Faith And Hoping For The Best
Our new home is a delight and the neighbors seem nice, though it’s hard to meet many of them as we’re still in a state of emergency, but I am having growing concerns about our company operator. Our president clearly has no idea of what she’s doing and the reason for taking us on remains an utter mystery to me, but they are paying our wages as promised and I have got plenty of time to keep me distracted. Dwarf Wattle Gets, Well, Smaller…
Gale-force winds typical of spring in Tokyo wreaked a bit of havoc in Kangaeroo Corner as a rack of hardenbergia was blown onto the dwarf wattle and snapped the miracle tree’s trunk in half. I was crestfallen to see the damage done to the tiny version of wattle that we’re growing in a pot. But that plant is made of stern stuff, indeed. It was one of many grown from seed, but the only one of a dozen or so that survived, and even then it was by accident. Hitting The Early Morning Jackpot
After three days of incessant rain, we finally got a dry start to a morning, which enabled me to get out on the bike and end up being rewarded with the most extraordinary sights for getting out so early. Wet roads are my enemy as I don’t have the grip strength to brake sharply, and using rim brakes on my bicycle means their performance in the wet declines significantly.
