50 Years of Friendship celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Australia–Japan Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation. This special Unknown Nichigo series explores the little-known people, places and events that have helped shape one of the world’s closest international relationships. New stories will be added regularly throughout the anniversary year.
